Built between a strategist and a psychologist who kept losing clients to the same gap.
The Compass Method was written in 2018 by Lena Acheson, then an ex-McKinsey strategist, and Dr. Marcus Vega, a clinical psychologist. They had been collaborating on a small Lisbon practice and noticed a recurring pattern: ambitious adults with clear goals were still arriving stuck. The coaching industry offered them affirmations and accountability; therapy offered them diagnosis and processing. Neither asked the harder question — what does a well-designed next chapter actually look like, in concrete terms, week by week?
Lena and Marcus spent eighteen months testing the framework with a pilot cohort of 41 members. They rewrote every stage at least four times before they would publish it. The version that launched in 2019 is, structurally, the same one Elvandia uses today — refined, never replaced.
